Wacky Vintage Bikes

The bicycle industry took a long time to figure out exactly what to do before they came to the modern safety bicycle.  This site has a bunch of diferent silly versions of the bicycle.  Here are a few:
This one is really similar to the modern safety bike, but instead of a chain to drive it, there are just some gears.

This backwards pennyfarthing seems like an obvious and way superior version of the direct-drive bicycle.  Usual pennyfarthing riding is difficult because the steering is on the same part of the bike as the propulsion system.

Another attempt to improve on the pennyfarthing.  Appearently both of the small wheels steer it.
