Austin, TX

As expected, Austin had some great bikes in it.

Tallbike with fucking antlers!!!

Excellent cargobike make from shitty bikes. The basket is so cool because the guy is a furniture builder by trade.

Sick DIY stretch bike.

Window washer's trike.

I love these old cargobikes.

Some recumbent. Check out the handlebar setup.

Ice cream trikes are everywhere in Austin.

Austin Bike Zoo!

These bikes were showcased for the grand re-opening of the Austin Yellow Bike Project. They have other crazy animal bikes that weren't out including an 80' rattlesnake! Wowzers!

Dog BMX

What isn't rad about a nice BMX bike covered in a stuffed dog!?

Prawn Bike

"This bike-riding prawn is one of my favourite things in the Museum’s collection. I both love it, and am deeply suspicious of it."

Seems to be a prop from an Olympics ceremony.

Skeeter has the Coolest Fixie Ever

This pic is from the same forum as the one below, but both pix deserved thier own post.  I've always loved Skeeter's bike - even when I was a little kid.  When I first got back into bikes (read: actually into bikes, not just a little kid), my first project I wanted to do was do a reproduction of Skeeter's bike.  I looked up how much disc and trispoke wheels cost, and immediately abandoned the project.

Bear Riding Tallbike!

This is on the previous link, but I decided to re-post it since it's so cool.   I wouldn't want anybody to miss it.

Vintage Tallbikes

Johnny Payphone has a great webpage about vintage tallbikes with lots of pictures and a bit of thier history as lamp-lighting and advertising devices.  Also on the page is a vintage ultimate wheel using a pennyfarthing-type wheel.

Check this out for sure.

Clowny Bucking Bronco Horse Bike

The off-center rear wheel makes the bike ride with a bucking motion.  Check out the tiny chainwheel.
